Name it, one friend will be popping out of your head. Guess what? Im one of those! 😊
It’s because I have a long bucket list, life goals and dreams. I no longer want to limit myself and end up asking “what could’ve been?”
I started it when I was in my teenager years. Day dreaming of when it will happen and what should I do when I got there.
I know we all have that within ourselves, we all have dreams, goals and places we want to go. It only stopped us because of financial incapabilities. Admit it or not, every dream has an equal amount of money. Money became one of the basic necessities we have, without it were unable to achieve any of our dreams listed.
For people who weren’t born with silver spoon in their mouth, like me, gonna work that ass to have the amount of money we needed to chase our dreams. For those who are able, they still need to work hard to maintain that amount of lifestyle.
The dream of yesterday might be different from today’s. I, every year, added different places to go, to do’s, what I wanna learn. And it wasn’t easy because I also need to provide for the family in all aspect of needs. So for long years, the dreams are pilling up, none of them were ticked off, it was stagnant.
We feel the frustration, we questioned ourselves if we are still worthy of that dream. Is it going to happen? Do I still deserve it? When that ever going to happen? And the longer we wait to unfold, we stopped believing it can happen. We set aside our dreams that once were alive. The enthusiasm we feel is no longer there, we became mediocre.
We felt that we are only born to pay bills then die.
We felt that we are only born to scan images of our dream destination in google.
We felt that it could never happen because of these and that.
We felt that we are not allowed to chase our dreams because of what needs to be prioritized.
Honestly, there are so much more reason not to chase our dreams because we do not prioritize ourselves. It wasn’t easy making decision! It took me time, years actually to happen.
I need to pay bills for years (on going still), provide the needs of my son (top priority), support my parents, my family. Save up.Invest.
Everything, I did except for one thing, to give myself what I deserve.I
Hey! I didn’t say be selfish, what am I trying to say is putting yourself first isn’t a crime. It is a love you need to give yourself before others, self love.
And I am not saying too that putting others are bad, nope! It’s selfless love.
See, we can either be both. We can balance self love and selfless love. It can! Trust me. Oh, not me, trust God.
As Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Indeed, I entrust my life to him, obey him as much as I can. When I finally did, he provides everything, my resources, my finances, everything. He aligned according to his plan.
And today, as I embark the new chapter of my life (32 years of existence), i finally get hold of my dreams. Unfolding right before my eyes. He ticked off several of my bucket list such as:
✔️ Be someone’s answered prayer.
✔️ Loose weight (yeah, I did, it doesn’t show tho 😂 but weighing scale told me so).
✔️ Renovate our home (not yet done but half is done).
✔️ Learn to play piano.
✔️ Attend book writing seminar.
✔️ Bring my brother, Drei with me (we are living far away from home for work).
✔️ send my youngest brother to school. (Which by the way he graduated last 2017).
✔️ Travel alone.
✔️ Get lost in a country.
✔️ Visit Maldives. #1 Dream Destination.
Yeap, it all happened one at a time. At first, we never feel it because we are on the same place.
Doing routinary work everyday.
Continue to pay bills monthly.
0 balance savings.
Debt in bank and with people.
No professional growth.
Dealing with people who pissess us most of the time.
We do not feel it because we focus on the things we do not have.
We keep on comparing our lives to one another.
We are not grateful.
We do not love ourselves.
We do not feel worthy.
We simply felt, tired.
Yes, I am too included, I am a human too! But we need to change our attitude.
People who dreams are not only dreamers but hardcore workers! They work on the dreams they have and live with it.
Don’t just sit there and wait for your dreams to happen, it wont happen if you wont do anything.
Small dreams is always a dream come true!
Slow progress is still a progress.
We are not living in a fantasy, my dear, I hate to burst your bubble but reality check, honey? Work out your dreams! Stop giving dilemmas.
Entrusting your dream to God is not only his job but yours too, you have to work together.
Don’t worry about finances, you have work, you can work and You can survive!
You can make your dreams come true by not spending thousand of money. Be practical.
If I learned something on this travel it would be Dreams are not made to be expensive, you just have to give yourself a rest. Every dream you have for yourself are self love and self care. You can make your dreams come true by being true to yourself.
Dreams are meant to live.
Don’t let your dreams be just in your dream. Go out and chase the dreams you always want because you deserve every tiny bit of it. Remember dreams are just glimpse of your reality.
So check your bucket list and go for it! Don’t live wondering, go out and wanderlust! God made this world so beautiful, go see it for yourself! Whatever it may seems to you.
P.S – I will blog my experience in Maldives and where I stay on the next post! Stay tuned!
